AIC-ADT Baramati (Agro-Industrial Centre - Agriculture Development Trust, Baramati)

Date of Visit: 22 January 2026

Organized by: Department of Computer Science & Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning), Rajarambapu Institute of Technology (RIT), Rajaramnagar

Participants: 55 Second Year B.Tech (AI & ML) students

Introduction

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) at RIT organized a one-day industrial visit to AIC-ADT Baramati on 22 January 2026. The integration of AI, data analytics, IoT, and automation in agriculture has opened new avenues for enhancing productivity and sustainability. This visit was arranged to provide students with first hand exposure to real-world interdisciplinary applications of AI-driven technologies in the agriculture sector.

The program commenced with a warm welcome and an orientation session by the AIC-ADT coordinators, who briefed the students on the organization's vision, mission, and incubation activities. Technical experts delivered insightful sessions focusing on deep learning for crop disease detection, machine learning for yield prediction, and IoT-driven smart irrigation systems. Additionally, students received live demonstrations of incubated startup solutions, including sensor-based soil health monitoring, drone technology for crop surveillance, and mobile farmer advisory applications. The visit concluded with an exploration of the Krushi Exhibition 2026, which featured smart farming equipment, organic farming practices, and agri-machinery.

Objectives

  • To provide students with practical, first hand exposure to AI and ML applications within the agriculture sector.
  • To understand the role of technology-driven innovation, data analytics, IoT, and automation in modern farming practices.
  • To expose students to real-time Agri Tech projects and incubated start ups to understand solution development and deployment.
  • To correlate academic concepts taught in classroom courses (such as classification, regression, and neural networks) with real-world industrial use cases.
  • To motivate students towards interdisciplinary research, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the agricultural domain.

Guidance and Support

The industrial visit was organized and conducted under the leadership and coordination of:

  • Dr. R. A. Medar, Head of Department, CSE (AI & ML)
  • Mrs. A. S. Patil, Industry Visit Coordinator
