Robotics and Automation

The department is recently established by the Institute from academic year 2023-24 with a UG program i.e. B. Tech. (Robotics & Automation) by intake capacity of 60. The growth of robotics has been tremendously high in the recent years and the next few years are to witness stupendous advancements in robotics and automation technology especially with the advent of Industry 4.0. Consequent to this paradigm shift in trending technology, B. Tech. (Robotics & Automation) has become one of the top most career choices among the aspirants. B. Tech. (Robotics and Automation) is an interdisciplinary branch which amalgamates various fields of Engineering that include Mechanical, Electronics, Computer Science, Sensors and Instrumentation, Industrial Automation, Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning, Nanotechnology, Bio Engineering, Machine Vision and many more. This UG program enriches the takers with knowledge related to design, construction, operation, and applications of robots

Dear Friends,
Welcome to the webpage of Robotics and Automation Department.
Industrial robotics is one of the modern technologies of Industry 5.0 and is widely used to implement the automation for solving industrial and societal problems. Robotics and Automation is an interdisciplinary program focused on developing industry 5.0 skills among the students. The Department of Robotics and Automation which was established in the academic year 2023-24 offers an Undergraduate Program i.e. B. Tech. (Robotics & Automation) with an intake capacity of 60. The industry ready curriculum of the program is designed to include the courses from Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering, to enable the graduates to develop interdisciplinary skills required to contribute in the projects having industrial and societal applications. 
The ‘Center of Excellence in Automation and Robotics’, which is one of the unique features of the department, is established to ensure availability of state-of-the-art research facilities. These laboratory facilities enable experiential learning, develop Industry 5.0 skills, and facilitate student and faculty research in the Robotics and Automation domain. The laboratory equipment and research facilities that are worth Rs. 1.5 Crore include; Cobot Training Cell, Humanoid Robot, Quadruped Robot, Digital Twin Software, Grippers, PLC simulator for process control, Hexcopter performance test setup, Sensor Training kit etc. Our collaboration with reputed industries gives ample opportunities to join hands with them for curriculum design, expert sessions, industry visits, internships and placement opportunities The team of dedicated faculty members and technical support staff is shaping the future of budding Robotics and Automation Engineers, using advanced teaching-learning and assessment tools.
