Infotsav 3.0

Department of Information Technologyhas organized National Level Technical Event Infotsav3.0. The aim is to provide opportunity to the students to compete and showcase their skills globally.  It encourages the students to participate in different competitions and develop the habit of constructive competition.

The Infotsav 2018 include one-day Workshop on “Responsive Web Designing using HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap and JQuery and along with this having technical & Non-technical event such as

Two Week STTP on “SQL & NoSQL” Under ISTE

Department of Information Technology organized Two Week STTP on “SQL & NoSQL” under ISTE during 28 Nov to 11 Dec 2018. The objective of this STTP is to build technical competency in the domain of relational and non-relational database to meets the desired needs in the IT industry.The resource person is Mr, Tushat Kuthe & Mr. Aniket Thorave corporate trainer and researchers in MITU skillologies, Pune.  Total 70 student from IT, CSE & E&TC branch are registered along with the 10 faculty from IT & CSE branch.

One week ISTE Short Term Training Program on “Angular 5” under ISTE student chapter.

Department has organised   One week ISTE Short Term Training Program on “Angular 5” during the 15th to 19thAugust 2018. The objective of this training program is to make students proficient in latest programming used in industry.  This beginner-level program covered an introduction to various aspects of AngularJS. Throughout the program, there lot of thrust was put on good industrial practices and engineering fundamentals that lead to first-time success. AngularJS is a JavaScript based open-source front-end web application framework mainly used to address many of the challenges encountered in developing single-page applications. Angular combines declarative templates, dependency injection, end to end tooling, and integrated best practices to solve development challenges and empowers developers to build applications that live on the web, mobile, or the desktop.

ELITE (Emerging Leaders of Information Technology)

The student association is the committee of the students formed by the students for the students. The Students Association is formed in the department with the name "ELITE" (Emerging Leaders of Information Technology) this year.

Year 2017-18

Two Days Workshop on “Internet of Things with Android and ESP 8266 Node MCU”

 Department of Information Technology and Electronic and Telecommunication has organized 2 days Workshop on “Internet of Things with Android and ESP 8266 Node MCU” on 16th and 17th Sept. 2017 under ISTE, RIT Chapter. This workshop is organized for students, aims to give hands on exposure of Internet of Things with Android application development.

Two Week AICTE approved Workshop In Association with IIT, Bombay

 Department of Information Technology has organized two week equivalent AICTE approved series of workshops on “Effective use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in education and Pedagogy for online blended/hybrid teaching-learning process” in association with IITB under MHRD.

  • FDP 1: Foundation Program in ICT for Education: (3rd Aug to 7th) Two Week equivalent course. A-VIEW Interaction: 19, 20 August 2017
  • FDP 2: Pedagogy for Online and Blended Teaching-Learning Process: 14 September- 12 October): Two- week equivalent course.

                   A-VIEW interaction: 16, 17 September 2017 (New dates) and 07 & 08 October 2017

One Week Induction Programme on  “Enhancing Technical Skill in IT Technologies”

Department of Information Technology had successfully conducted one week induction programme on ”Enhancing Technical Skill in IT Technologies” during the period of 21st May 2018 to 26th May 2018 funded by AICTE-ISTE. The faculty and student are participated from different academic institute to get knowledge of recent technologies such as PHP, IoT, Python, Laravel Framework, Machine Learning, Block Chain, Hadoop and Cloud Computing. The resource persons are invited from well-known industries and academics having expertise in respective technologies.

 

Xamarin Event 

Department of Information Technology organized "Xamarin event" on 19th and 20th August 2017 for students along with P U G Technology Foundation and M.C.C. Technology Center. It's a workshop on cross platform mobile application development with Xamarin and Visual Studio. 

We are delighted to have a speaker for this workshop, Mr. Mayur Tendulkar, Project Manager,  Microsoft, Pune. He was accompanied by Mr. SanketGhorapde, PUG Technology Foundation, Pune and Mr. Bhushan Chougule, Co-Founder , MCC Technology Center . 40 students from RIT and other institutes participated in this event. All students received Microsoft Azure Pass and benefited with its facility to use it for learning Xamarin.

App-A-Thon

We at Department of Information Technology have organized State Level Android app Development competition and exhibition "App-A-Thon" on Saturday, 16th September 2017 under Lead College Scheme, Shivaji University and UNNAT in Association with Aakash Center, RIT. The Guest for this event was Mr. Santosh Patange

Year 2016-17

Two Days Machine Learning Workshop

  • The Student Association (ELITE) of Information Technology Department have organized Two Days of workshops on Machine learning and deep Learning with OPEN CV. The Session were conducted by Ajinkya Ghadage Software engineer from Persistent System Pune. And Mr. Shashikant Ghangare Junior Research Fellow at Research Center Imarat DRDO. There were 30 students participated from different departments of RIT. 
  • The objective of workshop was student need to gain exposure and new ideas that aware them about new technology based on deep learning and Machine learning, OpenCV using Python, Scikit Learn, Object recognition using imagenet, Hello world of machine learning.

 

Two days Advanced Web Designing using Bootstrap workshop

The Student Association of Information Technology Department had successfully completed Two Days workshop on “Advanced Web Designing using Bootstrap" on 16th and 17th March 2017. The Sessions were conducted by Mr.  Vishal Shah, Disha Computer Education Sangli, have experienced more than 10 years on the same platform. Students from S.Y. and T.Y were found more energetic to learn the advanced concept used to design dynamic and more interactive web applications. The workshop initiated with benefits of Bootstrap in brief and finally ended by demonstrating dynamic web programming.This is also applicable for developing their projects.

Smart India Hackthon Competition 2017

'Smart India Hackathon 2017' is a pan India 36 hour nonstop digital programming competition. The participating teams will simultaneously compete from across 33 locations in India to offer digital yet sustainable innovative solutions to solve real time challenges faced by the nation.Team ZENITH of Information Technologysecure the 4th rank and won the PERSISTENT INSPIRATION AWARD in the SMART INDIA HACKATHON 2017 held at MANIPAL UNIVERSITY, KARNATAKA, on 1st and 2nd April 2017.

CSI (Computer Society of India)

 Year 2016-17

In association with Computer Society of India, the department of Information Technology has organized two days workshop on “Software Testing: Basics to Advance” is conducted on 18th and 19th Feb 2017 by Mr. Millan Kaul, Technical Test Lead at Tech Mahindra,  Pune and Ms. Pooja Jangid, Senior Subject Matter Expert at Amdocs, Pune. This workshop aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry and bring the latest technologies in the hands of students and faculty. In academics, students have to complete mini-projects and mega projects for their degree where they need to develop the software system but proper testing of the system does not take place. This workshop will create the awareness about the defects and errors that were made during the development phases.

Annual convention “Infotsav” is organized by the department of Information Technology under Comuter Society of India on 3rd and 4th   March 2017. It consists of various technical and non technical events like Campus to Corporate, Assembler, Infine Loop, SQL Master, Pratibha (exclusively for girls) and some non technical events like Tech Flash, Carrom, Mini Militia, etc. The aim is to give opportunity to students to develop their personalities by participating in activities which are outside the normal curriculum. It encourages the students to participate in different competitions and develop the habit of constructive competition. This convention also helps them to develop the capacity of organizing events and enable them for managerial and leadership activities. In this event 200 plus students have participated from various engineering colleges such as Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, etc districts.

Year 2015-16

Computer Society of India is the first and largest body of computer professionals in India. It was started on 6th March 1965 by a few computer professionals and has now grown to be the national body.  It has 72 chapters across India, 511 student branches, and more than 100,000 members. The Computer Society of India is a non-profit professional meet to exchange views, information and ideas. The Society also encourages and assists professionals to maintain integrity and competence of the profession. We have stared our 1st CSI student branch at RIT in 2010. Currently we have around 90 CSI members which includes undergraduate and post graduate students. In association with Computer Society of India, we at RIT regularly organize workshops, seminars, and technical talks for the benefit of students.
