The Information Technology Department is established in the year of 2001 with the intake of 60 students approved by AICTE New Delhi and Affiliated to Shivaji University Kolhapur. ”.The Department has got Two years Accreditation by NBA (National Board of Accreditation) in the Academic year 2013-14. Department is a promising student by offering high-quality education in IT filed to lead successful their career in Industries and Research. The Information Technology Department has done commendable progress in a short span of past few years. Our students are pursuing their higher studies (MS and Ph.D.) at prestigious places like Texas University & Toronto University. The renowned IT firms have recruited our students through campus interviews.

In the year 2010-11, the Department has got TCS accreditation which in turn has opened ample opportunities for fruitful collaborations with industries. Department signed MoU with different industries like TCS, Persistent, Infosys Ltd. Bangalore and Pranav Systtech Pvt. Ltd. Pune as a step of mutual benefit.  Department has continuously organized a various event such as Technical, Non-Technical, Training Program, Workshop, Mock Placement Interview under the  Student Association Cell (ELITE) in every year. The department offers program elective courses to cope with the latest trends in technology used in Top IT Industries. Department also has an active cell such as CSI Student Chapter, Android Club under which various events are organized to enhance the extra co-curricular activities of students.

  • A. C. Adamuthe received Best Paper Award in 4th  National Conference for Engineering Post Graduate Students RIT NConPG-18 at National Level.
  • S.S.Sawnt received Promising Young Teacher Award at institute level.
  • A.B.patil received Best Paper Award in “World Journal of Technology Engineering and Research” in Jan 2018 at National Level.
  • Department has received funding proposals as Enhancing Technical Skills In Recent IT Technologies Sectioned budget- Rs. 3 Lakh by AICTE-ISTE.
  • Department has submitted one proposal under Rajiv Gandhi Science & Technology Commission of Rs. 5 Lakh and shortlisted for review.
  • Smart India Hackathon Competition 2017: Smart India Hackathon 2017' is a pan India 36 hour nonstop digital programming competition. The participating teams will simultaneously compete from across 33 locations in India to offer digital yet sustainable innovative solutions to solve real-time challenges faced by the nation. Team ZENITH of Information Technology secure the 4th rank and won the PERSISTENT INSPIRATION AWARD in the SMART INDIA HACKATHON 2017 held at MANIPAL UNIVERSITY, KARNATAKA, on 1st and 2nd April 2017.

  • Transform Maharashtra: ‘Transform Maharashtra’, an initiative by the Hon’ble Chief Minister DevendraFadanvis, has become one of the most dynamic platforms ever created in Maharashtra’s history to promote inclusive governance. Students of the department have received

  • Android Club: Department has started Android club to promote student in the field of Android Application Development. The major achievement under this club are
    • Total 18 students (Developers ) won Rs. 500 Google play balance as a Gift from Google (Rs. 9000/- Total)
    • Total 23 Android Applications are developed and deployed on Google Play store.
    • Reached more than 35000 downloads for all application throughout the world
    • Faculty Advisor Mr.Ravindra J. Mandale received an invitation from Google, MountainView, US for Google IO 2018 to became part of Google developer ecosystem and doing Android publicity
  • Industry Internship cum Project Sponsorship

Amrata Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Pune and Servenergy ITC Pvt. Ltd., Pune provided internship cum project sponsorship to the project groups of IT department. Total 20 students are to be selected for this program and they have successfully completed their projects and submitted the work as a part of their B. Tech. degree in the academic year 2017-18. We are very much thankful to Mrs. NamrataKamble CEO, Amrata Technologies, Mr. Rohan Jadhav, HR & Admin Head, Servenergy ITC Pvt. Ltd., our alumni Mr. AmarjeetKamble (2010) and Mr. NageshJadhav(2016) for their kind support towards the excellence of IT Department.

  • Department had established collaboration for Industry Internship Program with IT Industries which include Bentley System Pune, GS Lab Pune, Posit Source Banner, Tej IT Solutions Pune, IASYS Pune, Tech Prime Labs Pune, ManoramaInfo solutions Kolhapur and many more.

  • Guidance for preparation of exam GATE, GRE, and public service examination.
  • Internship program for final year students. 14 students are completed their internship program in the year of 2017-18

Short Term Goals

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

After 3-5 years of graduation, the student will be able to:

  • Be updated with and adapt to, rapidly changing IT technologies through continuous learning leading to self-improvement.

Program Outcomes (POs) Curriculum: 2011-15 to 2014-18

  • Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and IT engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics and engineering sciences.
  • Conduct investigations of problems: Use fundamental knowledge and engineering skills including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • Design/development of solutions: Design and develop IT solutions using domain knowledge for engineering problems that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
