Objective of Training & Placement

Vision

Equipping the students with relevant and conceptualized professional skills and guiding them towards a bright future and career all around the world with the values of – ‘Sincerity’, ‘Hard Work’ and ‘Ethics’.

Objective

Training and Placement Cell is to guide students to choose right career and to give knowledge, skill, and aptitude and meet the manpower requirements of the Industry. 

Motive

  • To assist students to develop/clarify their academic and career interests, and their short and long-term goals through individual counseling and group sessions
  • Maintaining and regularly updating the database of students. Maintaining database of companies and establishing strategic links for campus recruitments.
  • Gathering information about job fairs and all relevant recruitment advertisements.
  • Coordinating with companies to learn about their requirements and recruitment procedures
  • Identifying the needs and expectations of the companies to assist them in recruiting most suitable candidates.
  • Organizing pre-placement training/workshops/seminars for students.
  • Arranging periodic meetings with Human Resources Department of companies and TPO's to promote recruitments.
  • To assist students for industrial training at the end of the fourth and sixth semester.
  • To provide resources and activities to facilitate the career planning process.
  • To act as a link between students, alumni, and the employment community.
  • To assist students in obtaining placement in reputed companies.

Keeping in view the industry requirements, the training curriculum is designed for preparing the students for entry-level Graduate Engineer Trainees.

Placement:

The industry is always on the lookout for students who are vibrant, energetic individuals and ready to accept challenges, attentive, a good academic background, fast learners, open to learning even at work and more importantly, good communication skills. This activity focuses on the personality development to make the students reliable, with a positive attitude and right decision making.

Placement Report           

                        The purpose of the training and placement cell is to give the students right knowledge, skill aptitude and meet the manpower requirement of the industry. The training and Placement cell at RIT-Diploma is facilitates by Central Training and Placement Officer as head and the Department Training and Placement Coordinator. The Training and Placement cell, which complements the efforts of the faculty and students by providing Placement, Internship and In-plant training (vocational training) opportunities to students, is one of the focal section in RIT.

Campus Recruitment Programme conducted by the Institute is a very vital activity for the young diploma engineers aspiring for appropriate placements in the industry. The placement department has a continuous interaction with the industries to have an idea of what the industries expect from our students. A good idea of the success of the T & P activities in RIT can be gauged by looking at the list of the companies which have visited here and recruited our students.

Campus Placement Review:

100% interested RIT Diploma 2nd Shift students for Placement got placed in various reputed companies in the academic year 2016-17. 60 Interested RIT Diploma 2nd shift students for Placement got placed in various reputed companies in the academic year 2017-18. 90.01 % placement AY 2017-18.

AY 2017-18 Report

Notable Activities at Training and Placement Cell-

  • Training and Placement Cell (Diploma wing) has organized Training program for 3rd year Diploma Engineering Students  On “Communication Skill and Personality Development” From 04th December 2017 to 20th February 2018 in association with Kaushalya Finishing School, Kolhapur. 78 students were participated in this Training Program.
  • Training and Placement Cell (Diploma wing) has organized Training program for 2nd year Diploma Engineering Students  On “Communication Skill and Grooming” From 07th December 2017 to 17th February 2018 in association with Kaushalya Finishing School, Kolhapur. 78 students were participated in this Training Program.
  • Our students were referred to 8 placement drives conducted at different colleges and 2 drives conducted at our college. 15 students were selected by Bharat Forge Ltd, Pune, 07 is Essel Propack, Mumbai, 01 in Owens Corning and 02 in RDC, Mumbai in placement drive.
  • PLC Training course is organized for 3rd year Diploma Electrical Engineering students in association with Prolific, Pune

Campus Recruitment

  • Pool Campus Recruitment Drive by Essel Pro-Pack, Mumbai.

Essel Pro-pack, Mumbai has arranged Pool Campus at RIT on 13th and 14th January 2018 for Diploma Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Students. Essel Propack, part of the USD 4.2 billion Essel Group, with FY17 turnover of over USD 368 million, is the largest specialty packaging global company, manufacturing laminated plastic tubes catering to the FMCG and Pharma space. Employing over 2852 people representing 25 different nationalities Total 168 students from nearby district participate for this drive. This drive was conducted for 2017 and 2018 pass out students. Total 7 students are selected from RIT. 

  • Online Test for Campus Recruitment Drive for ANAND Group of Companies through Employability Bridge

Tata Motors Pune shall be recruiting Technician Apprentices in 2017. For this Tata Motors Recruitment drive we are participated as Online Test Centre for diploma Students from nearby college. On 17th January 2017 students from the branch Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics and Telecommunication and Civil Diploma Engineering students participated. 

  • Pool Campus Recruitment Drive by Mahindra and Mahindra, Nagpur

Mahindra and Mahindra, Nagpur has arranged Pool Campus at RIT on 17th and 18th January 2018 for Diploma Mechanical Engineering Students. Total 448 students from nearby district participate for this drive. This drive was conducted for 2017 and 2018 pass out students. 

  • Campus Recruitment Drive by RDC Concrete, Mumbai

RDC Concrete, Mumbai has arranged Campus at RIT on 30th January 2018 for Diploma and B. Tech Civil engineering Students. 2 students from diploma Civil Engineering are selected in this drive 

  • Pool Campus Recruitment Drive by Endurance Technology, Aurangabad

Endurance Technology, Aurangabad visited our campus on 07th April 2018 for Campus Placement. For this drive, we got a good response from all the students of 22 Polytechnic located around Sangli and Kolhapur District. In total, from the branch Mechanical, Electrical, 124 Diploma Engineering students participated in the drive. The selection procedure involved a Written Test and Interview (Technical and HR). All 215 students went through the process. After this whole procedure our 15 students from our polytechnic were selected

  • Pool Campus Recruitment Drive by Accurate Sales and Service, Pune

Accurate Sales and Service, Pune visited our campus on 18thMay 2018 for Campus Placement. For this drive, we got a good response from all the students of13 Polytechnic located around Sangli and Kolhapur District. In total, from the branch Mechanical, Electrical, 108 Diploma Engineering students participated in the drive. The selection procedure involved a Written Test and Interview (Technical and HR). All 215 students went through the process.

Placement Policies

  1. The role of the Training and Placement Cell is of a facilitator and councilor for placement related activities. Training and Placement cell does not guarantee a job.
  2. The placement facility is available to all the students registered with Training & Placement Cell through ONE JOB TO ONE STUDENT.
  3. It is mandatory for the students to attend aptitude and other trainings (Resume Writing/Email Writing/GD/PI/ PSD Training) failing to which students will not be allowed to participate in any Training & Placement Activity.
  4. College uniform is mandatory for students to be present in the Campus Recruitment Programme, failing which students will not be allowed to appear for campus interview.
  5. Students must keep their Identity Card (RFID) with them at the time of PPT/Test/Group Discussion/ Interviews, and produce the same when demanded by the visiting team or their representatives.
  6. For pre-placement talks (PPT) students should be present at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time at the venue & be seated. Delay in reporting will disqualify the student from recruitment process. Students should be punctual & once the HR People/Company representative enters the venue all doors will be closed and NO ENTRY to the students.
  7. Canvassing with the Company Personnel will disqualify the candidature of the student. If students face any difficulty or have any queries, they should contact the member of T&P cell only. Students should not contact the recruiter directly. This should be strictly followed.
  8. Any student who has received offer letter, must inform the Placement office and submit the photocopy of the same as soon as possible.
  9. Students should fill their information on RITAGE to participate in Campus Recruitment Programmes. Also students need to check their information regularly and update the same whenever required. As this information will be shared with the industries. If any student failed to fill or update the information, he/she may miss the opportunity to participate in the campus recruitment drives.
  10. A nice ambience should be maintained by the students during the Placements/Recruitment programme. Any behavior bringing disgrace to the Institute will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against such students. Students should follow professional etiquettes. If found guilty, such students will be disqualified from further placement activity.
  11. Any breach of these rules shall lead to the student getting debarred from the placement process.
  12. During the Campus Recruitment Programme, a student who opts for the written test should mandatorily appear for the GD/PI also, failing which he/she will be debarred from the Campus Recruitment Programme for all other subsequent companies. Students should have positive approach towards placement drives.
  13. Those students, who do not wish to participate for any recruitment process, must inform the T&P office in advance, so as to give opportunity to the other students.
  14. If market situation and Job scenario necessitates a revision in the Placement Policy, it will be done in a manner so as to maximize the benefit to the student community as a whole.
