  • The Department has received three years NBA re-accreditation by AICTE, New Delhi, Govt. of India
  • The Department has also received the accreditation by The Institution of Engineers (India) Kolkata, an apex professional organization.
  • Department has been provisionally accredited (PG Automobile) for TWO years by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi under Tier – I.
  • Patil Rajdeep and Shirishkumar Shahapure of final year B Tech., Automobile Engg. secured second prize in AVISHKAR 2015-16 Stage I & II, for Engineering and Technology section, guided by Prof. S. R. Kumbhar. The project title was “Design and Development of Three way dumping for two wheel tractor trolley”. They also represented Shivaji University at Pune at Regional Level AVISHKAR competition Stage III.
  • Abhishek Rajshekhar Pandit, Student of S.Y.M-Tech Automobile, participated in KPIT Sparkle 2016 Innovation Competition, and got "Pat on the Back Award" on 30th of January 2016. For this competition total of 10000+ Students participated and 1700 ideas were submitted. After going through a short listing process of 3 rounds, his idea was selected in final 54 ideas all over the India. Theme for competition was "smart solution for energy and transportation". He received award from Mr. Vinit Goenka, Member, Task Force (IT) Ministry of Shipping Road Transport and Highways, Govt. of India.
  • A final year B Tech project entitled “Automatic Coin Operated Xerox Machine”, a multi disciplinary project by Automobile and IT Department students, guided by Prof. S. R. Kumbhar and Prof. Mrs. S. S. Patil, was selected for the final round of Zee 24 Taas Young Inventor award. They were the only representatives from 04 districts of Sangli, Kolhapur, Solapur and Satara.
  • Rajendra A. Lohar, Student of S.Y.M-Tech Automobile Engg. secured third prize in RGI- Technical Research Paper competition for students (TRPCS-2016), held at G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Pune.
  • Prof. A. P. Shah has been awarded “Doctor of Philosophy” (Ph. D.) in Mechanical Engineering from NIT, Warangal. The title of thesis is “Conjugate Mixed Convection with Surface Radiation from a Vertical Channel with Multiline Non Identical Flush – Mounted Discrete Heat Sources in the Left Wall.”
  • Team “NEQUIT” of students from Automobile and Mechanical Engineering participated successfully in Student Formula Racing named SUPRA organized by SAE INDIA, during 16th -19th July 2015.
  • Prof. R. M. Shinde won 3rd prize in Altair India Optimization Contest for faculty (AOC 2015 India).
  • Team “Galactus Racing” of students from Automobile and Mechanical Engineering participated in BAJA 2k16, organized by SAE INDIA, during 16th -22th February, 2016.
  • Prof. S. R. Kumbhar, has been enlisted as one of the achievers around the world in prestigious “Marquis Who’s Who”, biography in its 2016, 33rd Edition.
  • The team “Luftwaffe Racing” from Automobile and Mechanical Engineering Department, had participated in the ISNEE’s (Indian Society of New Era Engineers’) “Go-Kart Design Challenge 2k15. Got 14th rank in all over India, also secured 3rd rank in Autocross as well as Aesthetic.

Major Programmes organized by SAE India Colligate Club

Academic year 2017-18

1.

Team NEQUIT 3.0 of SAE RIT collegiate club members have successfully participated in student formula racing competition named SUPRA SAE India from 26th June to 1th July 2017. Team has secured All India Rank 20 rank amongst 350 registered teams. TEAM also won COST AWARD in SUPRA-17. The dynamic round of the competition was conducted on Buddh International Circuit Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Prof.Y.S.Patil worked as faculty advisor of Team NEQUIT 3.0.

2.

SAE RIT Collegiate club organized, “TEAM NEQUIT 3.0 interaction with faculties and students” programme on date 03/08/2017. Faculties from Automobile, Mechanical and MBA associated with TEAM NEQUIT 3.0 were invited by club to give vote of thanks. Dr.S.R.Desai HOD Automobile, appreciated students for winning cost award and securing All India Rank 20 in SUPRA-17.

3.

SAE RIT collegiate club office bearer’s selection process was started at 08/08/2017. Final list of office bearers is displayed on 14/09/2017.

SAE RIT collegiate club celebrated Engineers Day on 15/09/2017 by felicitating faculties of Automobile Engineering Department.

5.

“KHYMERA’17 – A Two Days National level technical symposium”, was organized by SAE RIT Collegiate club and AESA on 28th and 29th September 2017 under lead college scheme. It comprised events like Sync the skill, Brain Teaser, Cast a Way, Lathe Busters, Lan Gaming, Treasure Hunt and Jugaad. The symposium was inaugurated by Mr.UjjwalSathe (CEO Chintamani Motors, Sangli), Dr.Mrs.S.S.Klkarni Director R.I.T., Dr.S.M.Sawant, Dean, Student Development and Prof.S.R.Desai HOD Automobile. The symposium witnessed participation of 1000 students from across Maharashtra in various events.

6.

SAE RIT Collegiate club organized guest lecture of Mr. UjjwalSathe on 28th September 2017 on topic, “Entrepreneurship opportunities for Engineers”.

7.

SAE RIT collegiate club has organized orientation program on 10/10/2017 for all engineering students. The program was inaugurated by Dr.S.R.Desai Head Automobile Engineering Department, Prof.Y.S.Patil Faculty advisor SAE RIT CC and Mr.SaurabhBhalerao SAE RIT collegiate club president in presence of SAE RIT collegiate club office bearers and Automobile Engineering faculties.

8.

Five members from SAE RIT Collegiate club have successfully completed two day workshop on “Hybrid fuel cell vehicles: potential power source for the future” jointly organized by ARAI and SAEINDIA on 10th and 11th October 2017.

9.

SAE RIT Collegiate club is selected in top 10 collegiate clubs in western section. The selection was done on the basis of last three years performance of club. Faculty advisor of Club Prof.Y.S.Patil and student president Mr.Saurabh S. Bhalerao were invited to attend first student sectional council (SSC) meet on 27/12/2017 at MIT, Pune.

 

10.

SAE RIT Collegiate club has started reading club activity in the month of January. Under these activity SAE Magazines are made available free of cost to SAE Members.

11.

Team Xtreme83 of SAE RIT collegiate club has successfully participated in SAE Efficylce 2017 organized by SAEINDIA Northern Section. The competition was conducted at Lovely Professional University, Punjab from 1st November 2017 to 5th November 2017. Team has secured All India Rank 36 rank among 64 registered teams.  Prof. S. S. Mane worked as faculty advisor of Team Xtreme83.

12.

TEAM NEQUIT of SAE RIT Collegiate club members have participated successfully in FORMULA BHARAT competition which was organized by BOSCH at Karry Motors speed way, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. The competition was conducted from 23 Jan.2018 to 28 Jan.2018. Team has successfully completed all static and dynamic events. TEAM NEQUIT won “ROOKIE TEAM OF THE YEAR AWARD” for overall performance and successful completion of endurance.

13.

Team GALACTUS RACING of SAE RIT collegiate club members have participated successfully in MEGA ATV championship event organized by Auto-sports India at Nasik, Maharashtra. Team has successfully completed all static and dynamic events. Team has also competed endurance and blackout round of the event.  Dr..L.M.Jugulkarand Prof. R.M.Shindeworked as faculty advisor of Team GALACTUS RACING.

KHYMERA’16 – A Two Days SAE Western Region and University Level Technical Symposium was successfully organized under lead Institute Scheme on 30/09/2016 to 01/10/2016. It comprised events like Sync the skill, Brain Teaser, Cast a Way, Lathe Busters, Lan Gaming, Treasure Hunt and JugaadDr.Mrs.S.S.Klkarni Director R.I.T., Prof. S.S.Sawant, Dean, Student Development and Prof.S.R.Desai HOD Automobile inaugurated the symposium on 30/09/2016.The symposium witnessed participation of 1075 students from across Maharashtra in various events.

SAE Orientation program for Mechanical, Automobile and First Year Engineering Students on 05/10/2016.

Organized visit of SAE members to, “Symposium on International Automotive Technology (SIAT-17)” on 21/01/2017. The SIAT-17 is organized by ARAI Pune.

SAE RIT Collegiate club members faculty advisor Prof.Y.S.Patil has been invited by Aadarsh Institute of Technology, Vita on date 08/09/2016 to deliver expert lecture on topic “SAE Collegiate club benefits”.

9.

Team NEQUIT 2.0of SAE RIT collegiate club members have successfully participated in student formula racing competition named SUPRA SAE India from 4th to 9th July 2016. 10.

Team GALACTUS RACING-2 of SAE RIT collegiate club members have participated in BAJA virtual round in  June .2016. The virtual was organized by SAE INDIA in Prithampur, Madhyapradesh. Prof.L.M.Jugulkar worked as faculty advisor of Team GALACTUS RACING.

11.

Team NEQUIT-3 of SAE RIT collegiate club members have successfully cleared virtual of SUPRA-17. The dynamic event of SUPRA-17 will be conducted in month of July on one of the India’s finest race track named Buddh International Circuit (BIC), Noida, Uttarpradesh. Prof.Y.S.Patil working as faculty advisor of Team NEQUIT-2.

The first prize of competition was a "judges choice", CAR Number 09 drawn by Mr. Vivek Lad of Third Year Automobile won that prize. Second prize of competition was "visitors choice", About 200 visitors donated their valuable vote. CAR number 14 by Mr.AmitIthape (T.Y.Auto) got 42 votes out of 200. So he is declared as a second prize winner.Ms. ShiwaliJadhav got a "girl participant appreciation" prize for her dream car no.18.Prof.L.M.Jugulkar, Prof.R.M.Shinde and Prof.G.H.Kawade worked as judge for competition.

Expert lecture by Mr.AnilkumarValiv (Deputy RTO Pune district) on subject “Opportunities for Automobile Engineers in government sector” was organized on 12th Sept.2015.

6.

Organized visit of SAE members to “Auto-Agro Property Expo, Satara on 4th oct.2015. The expo was jointly organized by Satara District Automobiles Dealers Association and Agricultural Equipment Manufacturers Association.

7.

Organized five day training program on “Analysis and simulation of race car using CFD, ANSYS and ADAMS” for SUPRA and BAJA students. The program was conducted in two phases from 11th Dec to 20th Dec 2015.

8.

SAE RIT Collegiate club members have conducted two days workshop on “Vehicle Dynamics and Engines” for students. The programme was conducted from 6thfeb to 7thfeb. 2016.

9.

Team NEQUIT of SAE RIT collegiate club members have successfully participated in student formula racing competition named SUPRA SAE India from 16th to 19th July 2015. Team has secured 44th rank amongst 350 registered teams. The dynamic round of the competition was conducted on Madras Motor Race Track (MMRT) Aandrapradesh. Prof.Y.S.Patil worked as faculty advisor of Team NEQUIT.

10.

Team GALACTUS RACING of SAE RIT collegiate club members have successfully participated in BAJA competition held on 17th to 23rd Feb.2016. The competition was organized by SAE INDIA in Prithampur, Madhyapradesh. Prof.L.M.Jugulkar worked as faculty advisor of Team GALACTUS RACING.

11.

Team SPIRIT of SAE RIT collegiate club members have successfully participated in the SAEINDIA Northern Section EFFI-CYCLE 2015 hosted at Lovely Professional University, Punjab from 15th to 18th Oct.2015. Prof. M.L.Deshpande worked as faculty advisor of the Team SPIRIT.

12.

Team NEQUIT-2 of SAE RIT collegiate club members have successfully cleared virtual of SUPRA-16. The dynamic event of SUPRA-16 will be conducted in month of June on one of the India’s finest race track named Buddh International Circuit (BIC), Noida, Uttarpradesh. Prof.Y.S.Patil working as faculty advisor of Team NEQUIT-2.

 "Autofawks" a team of 16 students from Automobile Engineering Department 04 students from Mechanical Engineering Department has successfully participated in JK Tyre BAJA SAEINDIA 2011 at NATTRAX (National Automotive Testing Track) of NATRiP (National Automotive Testing and Research Infrastructure Project) at Pithampur, M.P. and obtained 18th Rank among 80 teams representing reputed technical institutes across India like IITs, NITs, COEP, Pune to name a few. 

BAJA SAEINDIA 2010

'The Automaniacs', a team of 16 students from Automobile Engg. Department successfully participated in JK Tyre BAJA SAEINDIA 10 at NATTRAX (National Automotive Testing Track) of NATRiP (National Automotive Testing and Research Infrastructure Project) at Pithampur, M.P. during 28th Jan. to 31st Jan., 2010 and obtained 5th Rank in Endurance Testing among 79 teams representing reputed technical institutes across India like IITs, NITs, COEP, Pune to name a few.
