Entrepreneurship Development Cell - Guidance

PREAMBLE:

Globalization of business and tremendous potential for growth in service sector has opened a new era of opportunities for young technocrats, who are looking for opportunities to exploit their full potential by setting up their own ventures .

For conducting Entrepreneurship development activities effectively, Institute has signed MOU with Maharashtra Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (MCED) . Institute is associate life member of Small and Medium Enterprise Development centre of India (SME). SME is conducting programmes every year at Mumbai Central office.

Institute is associate life member of Jagtik Marathi chamber of Commerce and Industry. MCED has selected our Institute as an authorized training Institute for imparting advance technical training for self employment generation.

A separate Entrepreneurship Library has been established under TEQIP Phase I with the help of EDI and MCED. Adequate number of books related to identifying business opportunities, market survey, project report preparation, financial management and technology are made available worth Rs. 85,000/- for budding engineering entrepreneurs.

Faculty development programme on entrepreneurship was organized during period December 11 to 20, 2006 in association with MCED & DST, total number of faculty benefitted -5.

Interaction with successful entrepreneurs is arranged every year. Hobby Club-Students from any branch can work on their own ideas in order to develop their own products. For this, facilities such as material, manufacturing facilities and CAD facilities are made available. This club is open for students other than college time and on holidays also.

 Strategic Objectives :

  • Establish Entrepreneurship Cell which will include incubation Centers for budding entrepreneurs.
  • Establish Business Information Process Cell.
  • To seek assistance from outside agencies & render the services to society to create self employment.

Project Name: Rajaram Bioenergy

Name of Student: Swapnil Kardile

Rajaram Bioenergy is in the business of aggregation of Biomass and converting the same into easy to transport and easy to use fuel products like Pellets and Briquettes. Production capacity of 25,000 MT of Biomass Pellets per annum at present in Islampur MIDC, Dist. Sangli.

Clients for Biomass Pellets: -Major clients includes Kellogs (Taloja), Pepsico (Ranjangaon) and also two of Thermax’s subsidiaries i.e First Energy India Pvt Ltd (FEIPL) and Thermax Onsite Energy Solutions Limited (TOESL).Developed Biomass Pellet based stoves which completely run on the biomass pellets giving more than 40% Saving when compared with LPG Cooking.Around150+ Biomass stoves in Pune Mumbai and many more in other states.

Biomass Business: - Biomass Fuel manufacturing facility is located in the heart of Sugarcane belt of Maharashtra. After sugarcane is harvested, dry leaves are left on the ground – called Sugarcane Trash. We aggregate this Sugarcane Trash with the help of New Holland make Balers. Organization is pioneers and largest aggregator of Sugarcane Trash in Maharashtra.

Project Name- Shubham Inks & Allied Products

Name of Student: Shubham Yadav

Brief information-Manufacturing of Printing Inks used for Packaging of Food packages, with a vision to make packaging inks environment friendly and safe for food packages. We are currently supplier for major food packaging end consumer like Chitale Dairy, Krishna Dairy, etc.

Project Name-TGP Bioplastics

Name of Student: Karan Chavan, Indrajit Nikam, Tejas Zagade

TGP Bioplastics a startup working in the field of biodegradable plastic for retail packaging. Under the able guidance of supervisor, team developed patented protected blend of cheaper-than-ever biodegradable plastic which is useful for carry bags, garbage bags, electronics packaging and some kinds of food packaging. Under industry-academia interaction, team also have been selected for a Govt. grant of 76 Lacs from RGSTC along with faculty partner as Prof.M.V.Pisal. Currently, engaged in the process of plant establishment. Their quest is to make packaging industry more eco-friendly.

A step toward go green. Sarthi app provides easiest and hassle-free commute booking platform where everyone can book their rides The goal of our organization is to provide

pollution free transportation using electric rickshaw and vehicles. Sarthi services is basically transportation company which provides transportation from one place to another place at lowest cost along with comfort and on time.
