Center for Innovation, Incubation & Entrepreneurship Development (CIIED)

Since 2006, every year, number of Training programs in Entrepreneurship Development is conducted & as result of this Entrepreneurial culture is being inculcated in institute. Simultaneously, with Institute’s initiative in promotion of research culture among faculty and students, number of innovative projects, ideas is being developed. The speedy translation of Innovative ideas into product processes and series for the market is the need of the ever challenging Global business environment.

In response to this, RIT has extended activities of Entrepreneurship Development Cell, to “Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship Development” (CIIED) in2016, at a most propitious moment when Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship are playing a vital role in shaping national economies.

Entrepreneurship Cell, targets to help in the development of RIT's entrepreneurial ecosystem by enabling easy and efficient interaction between its major components spanning students, working professionals, aspiring and existing entrepreneurs, mentors, angel investors, venture capital firms and corporate through initiatives like interactive sessions, competitions, conferences.

Incubation  Facilities- 

At the Center for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIED), each incubatee has access to the following facilities.

1. Physical office space based on the requirements

2. Access to college Wi-Fi facilities.

3.  Meeting rooms and G.B. meeting hall access to conduct company meetings.  

4.  Access to all the labs to conduct tests/experiments and available software.

5.  Access to library.  

6.  Access to Central Workshop.  

7.  Access to cafeteria/ Guest House.  

8.  Access to UG/PG students for project allocation/internships. 

9.  Power supply with UPS/ DG back up

11. Gayatri Guesthouse (lodging) at discounted rate.

At the Center for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIED), each incubatee gets the following services on request.

Activities Conducted in year 2019-20

  • Registration of RIT in Institute Innovation Council (IIC).
    • Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India has established ‘MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ to systematically foster the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes while they are informative years. RIT has registered in this initiative. Under initiative “India First Leadership Talk Series" with Honourable Minister of Human Resource Development, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank’, talk on: "Innovation for Resurgent India" was aired on 22nd August 2019 from 11:00 AM. ED track students and faculties were present for listening talk.
  • “Illuminate” One Day Workshop by E-Cell RIT
    • To promote Entrepreneurial culture in campus, E-Cell RIT organized one day workshop in collaboration with E-Cell IIT Bombay, titled “Illuminate” on 13 January 2020. Huge response by students from all years & all branches apart from E-Cell Members.90 students participated in the event. Mentors from IIT Bombay guided students in training case studies, hands on experience with business model preparation & presentation. Financial support from Institute to promote this activity.

  • Expert Talk on Entrepreneurship Development for Final Year B. Tech ED track students & mentors:
    • To motivate students for entrepreneurship & their further nurturing, expert talk by Mrs. RajashriPatil, HR trainer, Career Counsellor, who is currently a board member of EDI, Ahmedabad, and Executive member of Surya Group Pune, Mr. Anandrao V. Patil, IAS officer, was arranged on Thursday, 16.01.2020.It was one to one interaction with students & mentors about entrepreneurship development.

  • E-CELL Summit at IIT, Mumbai
    • RIT E-Cell participated in E-Cell Summit organized by E-Cell, IIT Mumbai from 1ST -2nd 2020 at IIT Bombay.110 students participated in national event. It is pleasure to announce that RIT E-CELL grabbed 2ND Runner UP in IIT Bombay’s National Entrepreneurship Challenge (NEC).

Establishment of AI Club -

To promote Entrepreneurial culture in campus, one more club-Artificial Intelligence club started in this year.

Inauguration of E-Cell,2019 -

E-Cell has been established in Institute to promote Entrepreneurial culture. Inauguration done at the hands of  Dr. Prakash Mugli, M.D., Enerzi Microwave systems Pvt. Ltd. Belgaum

This year Night lectures are arranged on every Tuesday for preparing students for general awareness. Omkar Kadam, TY CSE delivered on topics such as  

1.  Relation of India Pakistan & Interest of world in it. 2. One belt-One road, Initiative by China.

This year 65 students visited E Summit at IIT, Bombay. Their registration fees was sponsored by RIT

Employability skill development by Singapore Polytechnic-

This academic year 24 students are working in B.Tech. ED Track. All students are appearing for online course Entrepreneurial & Employability skill development by Singapore Polytechnic.  Out of total fees Rs. 6000/-, Shivaji University sponsored  Re.2000/- & RIT will sponsor  Rs. 1000/-. Programs on Financial aspects, Business canvas & Plan, Marketing & Achievement Motivation were arranged .

Faculty Development Program-

Faculty Development Program was carried out under ED Cell. It was 2 Day’s program to guide and train teachers in the field of entrepreneurship for betterment of students.

Dr. Satish Mokashi from Aurangabad came here to take workshop on Achievement and Motivation for the ED track students. That workshop was for 2 Days, 15th and 16th March respectively.

Other Activities-

  • Students from RIT E-Cell had attended session on “UDYOGYOKTA VIKAS SHIBIR” at karad.
  • Students are also working on another project by Govt.of Rajasthan for Balloon satellite and Rocket Projects.
  • Media Cell students covered publicity , Interview with Guest for Graduation Ceremony, also supported various programs such as final year students photo session, Industry- Institute conclave-interaction with Hon. Hanmantrao Gaikwad-BVG Group. , Media partner for CTL.
  • 2 Students from E-Cell won the competition at E-Summit IIT Bombay, 2019.
  • Space club students demonstrated successful launching of Rocket at the inauguration function of SDNx Space exploration lab, Kolhapur.
  • This year 26 students from CIIED completed Startup Upgrad
  • 15 students completed on line program on Financial Management by Anil Lamba.
  • 28 students completed their projects in Entrepreneurship Development In B.Tech. ED Track. Two projects are in pipeline.
