The remarkable growth in the Indian food industry in recent years has created the need for qualified and trained personnel in the fields of food technology and management, food quality analysis, packaging and storage, cold chain management and safety. Considering all these aspects, the Department of Food Technology and Management is established in the RIT in year 2022 with an intake capacity of 60 students. The RIT is committed to develop future food technologists, food processed engineers, lab analyst, R & D engineers to cater need of the society in coming years. The department proudly houses vibrant, dedicated and motivated faculty members with several specialized sub-disciplines. The prime objective of the department is to create trained and skilled professionals to outfit to the needs of the rapidly growing food sector.

Salient Features:

Contemporary Curriculum- Instil knowledge in the area of Food Technology such as Food Microbiology, Food processing, Food biochemistry and Statistical methods

Holistic Development- Participation in technical events, conferences, workshops, sports and cultural activities help in the holistic development of students

Industry Immersion- Internships and trainings are also conducted based on the food safety to explore students with real life opportunities.

Research and Entrepreneurship Development Tracks- Research and Entrepreneurship Development Tracks are included in the curriculum.

Professional Enhancement- In addition to the core curricula, program offers subjects like communication, ICT, soft skills to improve personality and to enhance employability

Projects- Seminar and presentation courses are designed to improve technical and presentation skills

Software Skills- Curriculum is equipped with digital technologies for computational requirements and Engineering Drawing and Graphics

Placement and Higher Studies Opportunities- Students are prepared for placement and higher studies by providing special training.
