Mechanical engineering emerged during the industrial revolution and continues to expand and evolve to encompass advancements in current technology. This broad base of knowledge prepares mechanical engineering graduates for employment in a wide variety of companies, industries and organizations around the globe. The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 1987 with a view to become a center of excellence in the field of mechanical engineering. It currently offers two undergraduate programs (B.Tech.) and three postgraduate programs (M. Tech.). All eligible programs are accredited by NBA. The department is well packed with highly motivated and dedicated faculties to impart quality education in parallel with research. Well-equipped labs help to solve problems related to vibration, tribology, mechatronics, experimental stress analysis and so on. Advanced machining lab helps to machine precisely and conduct sophisticated testing with accuracy. CAD/CAM labs help to solve different technical problems using advanced software in design and manufacturing. Department has Collaborations with major industries and Universities such as Tata Motors, Bharat Forge, Apollo Tyres, Krisha Medical universities etc. for placements, projects, visits and industry based open electives.
