The aim of the Training and Placement
at any Professional Intuition is twofold
and comprehensive in nature. The objective
of Training is to help the students to develop
receptive minds which can enable them to have meaningful
interpersonal relationships, emotionally satisfying attachments
and bring about balance between needs, capabilities
and opportunities .The purpose of the placements
is to help them to become a productive member
of the knowledge society and thereby pave way for
fulfilling the sociogenic motive of self actualization. The
Training and Placement Function is coordinated through the
Departmental Training and Placement Officers with Central
Training and Placement Officer facilitating conduct of events.
The companies that visit our campus have global presence
and their expectations from the students range from good vocabulary,
subject matter knowledge in their respective areas of specialization,
ability to hold conversations to possessing of analytical
and presentation skills. Additionally the companies also look
for enterpreunal and Leadership skills in the seeking and
budding Engineers.
The students avail benefits of, on an average of about 40
Campus Recruitment Programmes per year and the prominent among
them are Bharat Forge Limited, Pune, Mahindra &Mahindra
Ltd, Nasik, Reliance Energy Ltd.,Mumbai Shaporjipalonji &
Co, besides IT Gaints like Infosys Technologies Limited, Bangalore
and Wipro Technologies, Pune. The Institution has also ventured
to organize recently an Off-Campus Interview Programme with
the support from Infosys Technologies Limited to help it’s
past and passed out students along with with students from
allover India, who turned out in large numbers. The Institution
has plans to hold similar such events for the benefit of the
students from the rural parts of the country as more and more
Industry stakeholders look forward to rely upon the youth
from Rural India.
The number of students finding placements is gradually on
the rise and the count for the year 07-08 is 165.This is a
significant as the Institute is located in the rural part
of the country and the students find their careers beginning
with these global companies offering unique opportunities.
It is also expected that these students will play a very vital
role as alumni's to the next generation of budding engineering
graduates passing out from this Institutions.
The Institution is further playing an instrumental role through
Industry/Institution Interactions and having memorandum of
Understanding with the Leading Industry Stakeholders Like
Infosys Technologies Limited, Bharat Forge Limited and Wipro
Infotech Limited. Besides creating opportunities of placement
this also generates feeling of entrepreneurship and facilitates
training opportunities through events like talent pipeline
programme, an initiative of Bharat Forge Limited, Pune. The
Institution also has plans to start programme on Vendor Development
and Value Engineering with support from the Industry to enable
the students to become multitasking even at the entry level.
The Institution has an associate membership with Maharatta
Chamber Of Commerce, Industries and agriculture; Pune to seek
support on various activities related to Education, Training
and Placements. The Shivaji University also propagates training
opportunities through active interaction with Board of Apprenticeship
Training, Western Region Mumbai, and creating placement opportunities
by organizing Campus Recruitment Programmes at regular intervals.
