Entrepreneurship Development Cell, RIT 

Entrepreneurship Development Cell, RIT Islampur (E-Cell RIT) is an initiative by the Centre for Innovation, Incubation & Entrepreneurship Development (CIIED) of Rajarambapu Institute of Technology, Islampur. The E-Cell RIT was established with a vision “To develop an ecosystem that will nurture the development of the entrepreneurial mindset of the RIT community, which will be able to solve the problems profitably”. E-Cell is set to develop its members to work in a professional environment and acquire skills. E-Cell RIT organizes many events, workshops, and competitions to promote entrepreneurship among college students and impart knowledge to all people. It also aims to provide efficient interaction between its major components spanning students, working professionals, and external institutions.

The E-Cell RIT runs as a startup that helps members to prepare for the corporate culture. The structure of E-Cell is evaluated & appreciated by Mr. Kaustav Majumdar, Head - StartUps, Incubation, Acceleration- SPJIMR, Advisor & Mentor at IIM Calcutta Innovation Park & Mr. Puneet Raman, Founder & Director at Prowisdom Growth, Startup Coach.

Mission: 

• To provide efficient interaction between its major components spanning students, working professionals, aspiring and existing entrepreneurs, mentors, angel investors, venture capital firms and corporate through initiatives like interactive sessions.
• To provide basic resources required for an Enterprise
• To provide the necessary training programs for the E-Cell community.
• To provide an efficient channel of communication between the E-Cell community and external institutions
• To help the E-cell community identify, solve and deliver solutions profitably, with an entrepreneurial attitude.

Objectives:

• Work on R&D for Industry mainly for local small and medium enterprises.
• Address local problems & find innovative and viable solutions.
• Promote culture of IPR, Technology Transfer & Commercialisation.
• Nurture and promote creative ideas for its conversion into successful products & Technologies.
• Interfacing and networking between Academic, R&D institutions, Industries, and Financial Institutions.
• Create new techno-start ups

Our Achievements:

• The National Entrepreneurship Challenge 2021:

E-Cell RIT participated in the National Entrepreneurship Challenge (NEC), organized by E-Cell IIT Bombay in the year 2020-21. NEC is a six month long competition, more than 650+ colleges participated in this competition across India. The E-Cell RIT secured 1st Rank at the National Entrepreneurship Challenge 2021.

• Entrepreneur of the Week (EOTW):

E-Cell RIT conducts regular activities focussed on overall personality development. The E-Cell organizes many entrepreneurial sessions, events, competitions, and workshops. Entrepreneur of the Week (EOTW) is our flagship event where we invite entrepreneurs, business persons, and prominent personalities to share their experiences and help students develop an entrepreneurial mindset. We have invited many entrepreneurs to EOTW. One of them was Mr. Pankaj Dubey, MD/CEO Power Global India, Founder & CEO DSPIN Consulting. Mr. Pankaj Dubey is also a TEDx speaker and a well-established name in the Indian automobile industry having contributed significantly to Yamaha, Hero and Polaris.
