Student Association Activities
ELITE (Emerging Leaders of Information Technology)
                      The student association is the committee of the students formed by the students for the students. The Students Association is formed in the department with the name "ELITE" (Emerging Leaders of Information Technology) this year.
 
Activities carried under ELITE
2012-13
  1. Inauguration of ELITE and fresher's welcome party was organized through ELITE dated 24th Aug 2012.
  2. A motivational lecture of Prof. Mulla, Mechanical Departmetn, RIT was arranged for TE, BE Students on the occasion of Teacher's Day on 5th Sept. 2012.
  3. An "EYE DOANTION and EYE CHECKING CAMP" was organized through ELITE on the occasion of Engineer's Day on 15th Sept.2012 to promote social awareness amongst the student community of our Institute. This camp was organized in association with Lion's Club's Jayant Netralaya, Islampur. Total 300 students and faculties had taken the benefit of Eye Checking and 20 people had registered for eye donation. The Publication of "Info-Tech" Newsletter , Sept. 2012 is done on this day.                   
 
2011-12
  1. Inauguration of ELITE and fresher's welcome party was organized through ELITE.
  2. Organized and conducted a one day Institute level event "PLYSEM" on 16 March 2012. Overwhelming response from the students was there for this event. Two sub events are-

             * THYSEM- Essay Writing Competition
             * PLACARDIO- Poster Presentation Contest

  3. Teacher's Day was celebrated in the department where BE students interacted with the SE, TE students on different topics which are related to subject topics, placement activities and preparation, competitive preparation etc. Also drawing competition and Gaming competition was held for the staff members.
  4. Continued publishing newsletter six weekly by the students through ELITE as "INFO-TECH". Total seven Issues for this year are published and uploaded onto the MOODLE.
  5. To increase students' participation and motivating them, we have started a Reward System through ELITE last year. The awards are given for the Best students of the year, the Best Programmer of the year and Award for the achievement by the students outside the institute.
  6. A series of Programming Challenge is run throughout the year for all students in department

                    

 
CSI (Computer Society of India)
 

                      The mission of the CSI is to facilitate research, knowledge sharing, learning and career enhancement for all categories of IT professionals, while simultaneously inspiring and nurturing new entrants into the industry and helping them to integrate into the IT community. The CSI is also working closely with other industry associations, government bodies and academia to ensure that the benefits of IT advancement ultimately percolate down to every single citizen of India.

                       RIT is now a member of CSI and also we have a student branch of CSI for CSE/IT department.

                       We organized an event "PRO-YUDDHA'11" through the student branch, which included project competition and on the spot paper presentation at the university level.

Year 2011-12

                      A training program on "Ad-hoc Network & NS2" by Mr. RamKrishna M (MIT,Manipal) was organized on 24th & 25th Nov.2011 under CSI, Pune Chapter for Teaching staff from Engg. colleges affiliated with Shivaji University and under lead college.

                     A technical event " TEchnosphere " was organized on 30th September and 1st October, 2011. A technical event " KAIZEN" was organized consisting of events like Procaliber, WebKida, D'Mask and Mind Hunter on 16-17 February, 2012. Students from various Engineering Colleges were participated in these events.

 
Year 2012-13

                   Under CSI, Pune chapter and lead college activity, Shivaji University Kolhapur CSE and IT Departments had organized a technical event "Technosphere 2k12" on 8th and 9th September 2012. Total 650 students from various engineering colleges of Sangli ,Satara ,Kolhapur district have participated in Technosphere 2k12.

                The workshop on "Effective use of Open Source Web Tools" is conducted on 8th Sept. by Mr. T Anand from Knewron ,Pune. The technical/nontechnical events like Treasure hunt @ C ,D-War (Debate competition), Web Nirman (Deb Designing contest ), LAN Gamming was conducted on 9th Sept.
