                  The Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering was established in the year 1991 to start a 4-year B.E. degree programme affiliated to the Shivaji University. A post graduate programme leading to M.E. degree in 'ELECTRONICS ' was introduced in the year 2002.

                  Department has always remained in the forefront in producing quality engineers/technocrats who brought success to the department and institute. Department has excellent infrastructure facilities and resources in the form of modern equipment, faculty, library & references which always prove useful to our UG and PG students and to other technical institutes or industries in and around. Department has maintained a rapport with the industries and R & D organizations Thus from a modest beginning, the department has come a long way. Today, it is rated as one among the leading educational institutions of the state in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.

                   The focus of the UG and PG programme is on "Communication & Embedded systems ". The curriculum is so designed as to give adequate emphasis on the digital and communication technique. In tune with the above objective, the syllabus features core courses like optical Communication, DSP and Systems, Communication Systems, Computer Networks, Electronic Communication, Microprocessor and Microcontroller, Microwave Circuits, Satellite Communication giving a balanced coverage of the theory and practice of modern Telecommunication Engineering. The core programme is supplemented and further reinforced by a well-chosen set of elective courses

                  The department has a close interaction with the alumni and is continuously using their inputs for improvement of the curriculum and research facilities
