Civil Engineering has kept pace with the rapid growth
in the field of technology. It is that branch of engineering
which provides basic amenities required for the survival
and maintenance of the environment due to its fast deterioration.
The department of civil engg. was established in 1983
and has since then made remarkable progress since then
it has a capacity of 60 for under-graduate courses and
18 for post graduate course in Structural Engineering
and Construction and Management each.
The Civil Engineering department provides all the facilities
required to study and understand construction with an
eye on environmental friendliness.
The department seeks expertise from several branches
of civil engineering viz. Structures, Soil and Foundation,
Hydraulics and Environmental Engineering. The department
has well qualified and learned faculties who have a
minimum qualification of Masters Degree in Engineering.
These include Five Doctorate in Philosophy.
The faculty has participated in several academic activities
by submitting research papers at national and international
levels. They are frequently invited to conduct guest
lecturers for students from Shivaji University and to
guide students doing Ph.D.
The civil department has been offering consultancy services
in testing of building material viz. steel, cement,
bricks, etc., to several government organisations, private
sectors and the local contractors and builders.
We are proud to add that our students have secured ranks
at University level and GATE examinations.
The department has well qualified and experienced staff
supported with well equipped laboratories, computing
facilities and skilled laboratory staff. To offer quality
technical education it has the credentials of undertaking
many sponsored projects from MPCB, MOEF, NEAC, and BAIF
to name a few.
